Orgelland Steiermark
Styria, with its provincial capital Graz, has a unique collection of organs and at the same time stands for the exemplary further development of the instrument and its integration into various cross-genre cultural and educational initiatives.
This website, in cooperation with the Centre for Organ Research at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, cultural policy, churches, societies and associations in Styria, aims to make this cultural asset more visible.
Orgelland Online
The ongoing project "Orgelland Online" is dedicated to the professional recording of important instruments throughout the region, in various audio formats as well as on video.
All productions, e.g. Johann Sebastian Bach's Italian Concerto BWV 971 and Franz Liszt's great Sonata in B minor, played by Gunther Rost on the historic organ of Göss Abbey and on the Black Organ at the Centre for Organ Research in Graz, can be downloaded for free as audiophile stereo and surround versions on this website:

The organ in Göss Abbey was built in 1718 by the Graz organ builder Johann Georg Mitterreither and restored by the Bodem company in 1997. It is one of the most important organ monuments in the state.
The Black Organ at the Centre for Organ Research was designed by Gunther Rost as a mobile digital concert organ and built by the US company Rodgers in 2012.
